Advanced Placement Comparative Government
Course Description:
The course in AP Comparative Government and Politics introduces
students to the fundamental concepts used by political scientists to study
the processes and outcomes of politics in a variety of country settings.
Additional Information Comparative politics is the subfield of political
science that analyzes the similarities and differences of the political
institutions, political behavior and public policies of countries. The
twentieth and twenty-first centuries have taught us that we must pay
attention to the world around us if we wish to understand politics within
our own borders. In approaching the study of politics with this
perspective, students will gain a better understanding of both the
similarities and differences that exist among modern political systems.
