Eventually the woods gave way to an opening where we could see the next section of woods. We estimated we had traveled about an eighth of a mile in the last half hour, but it was good to see the sky again, if only briefly, before plunging back into the dark woods for another marathon session of over, under and around. Did I mention this is Bear Country?
