1. Dress the hook back to the bend.

2. Stack a small bundle of deer hair. Ty in the bundle allowing the ends to extend approximately 1/4 of an inch beyond the ty in point. Ty down the bundle to form an underbody up to a point about 1/3 of the shank back from the eye.

3. Wrap the thread back to the bend again and ty in the chenille by the tip. Wrap the thread forward to a waiting position.

4. Wrap the Chenille forward in tight turns covering the underbody. Ty off the end and trim the excess.

5. Stack a small bundle of Elk hair for a wing. Tie in the bundle at a point slightly in front of the body. Trim the tag ends and secure with several more wraps of thread.
