25 Best Towns: Fly Fishing For Trout.

Road Trip anyone?

New England’s

Best Fly Fishing Towns

Although fly fishing got its start in the eastern United States, it has become very much a western-centric sport over the past couple of decades. While towns like Manchester, Roscoe, Livingston Manor, Grayling and Rangeley once dominated the fly fishing scene; places such as Ennis, West Yellowstone, Livingston, Jackson and Basalt can claim that honor today.

How many of you have ever been to Manchester, Rangeley or North Conway? How many even know what states these towns are in? If you are over forty you have most likely heard of the Batten Kill and Rapid River. If you are over fifty you probably know about the Kennebago River, Upper Dam, and Kennebago Lake. Over sixty and you might even know about the Saco River. Otherwise, unless you live in the area you are likely to know very little about these once fabled places.
