New GSSNE Staff!

Lisa Crowell, Member Services Specialist, has always had a special place in her heart for the Girl Scout organization. She became a Girl Scout at a very young age and continued that legacy by registering her daughter as a Daisy. As a former Troop leader and Service Unit team member, Lisa is excited to share her working knowledge of Girl Scouting with the Member Services team. Lisa says her Girl Scout path has led her to amazing people, experiences, and self-discovery and she wants others who are ready, to find the rewards Girl Scouts has to offer them. Whether talking with adults about becoming volunteers, or speaking with children about becoming Girl Scouts, Lisa says, “I love to share my enthusiasm and passion for this special organization that has given me so much!”

Senior Director of Girl Experience, Jeannie Lapierre is a

Rhode Island native and educational programs manager with over 15 years of experience in directing educational programs and personnel management. She is looking forward to leaning

on her extensive background in launching new initiatives, forming community partnerships, curriculum development

and leadership abilities to contribute to building girls of

courage, confidence and character. Jeannie served in the U.S. Army for 8 years and is a Combat Veteran having served a tour

in OIF III. When she is not utilizing her problem solving skills or streamlining professional and personal projects, Jeannie

enjoys hunting for quality vintage finds, visiting art museums

and dabbling in the performing arts. Jeannie lives in Pawtucket with her husband, daughter, and their 2 cats.

Michelle Burke, Outdoor Program Manager, joins us after working for

the last seven years with the YMCA, most recently as a Senior Program Director. Michelle’s first overnight camp experience was as a Girl Scout at Camp Glen Spey in NY; she credits her love of camping to her troop leaders who would take her troop camping every chance they could

get. Michelle believes that camp teaches children skills, interests, and ways to work through problems in a supportive environment, crediting her ability to manage her fear of heights to the counselors at Girl Scout camp who helped her climb and traverse the high ropes course.

Along Michelle’s outdoor journey she has spent time working in

Outdoor Education in IN, NY, and NJ, as a Day Camp Director in MA,

NY, and NJ, and as an Overnight Camp Director in NJ. Michelle brings over 15 summers worth of camp staff experience with her to GSSNE.

Michelle has a Bachelor’s of Arts in English and a Master’s of Public Administration in Leadership both from Centenary University in NJ.
