Welcome to the 2017-2018

Girl Scout membership year!

Happy Fall, and new Girl Scout year!

At the May 2017 Annual Meeting our members voted on a new slate of Board Members to govern the work of our movement locally, as well as a slate of National Council Delegates who, as you read this newsletter, will have just come back from meeting in Columbus, Ohio with thousands of Girl Scouts from across the country at the National Convention.

We look forward to sharing the energy and excitement generated from so many who are passionate about the future of our movement. Thank you for the feedback you provided at the annual meeting—your ideas matter and will be shared!

I love the beginning of a new Girl Scout year—girls are so excited to begin meeting again with their Girl Scout friends. Some become members for the first time and participate in their investiture ceremony, while the rest of us rededicate ourselves to Girl Scouting and all it stands for...

We say the Girl Scout Promise and Law and reflect again on what it means. For instance how can we be more considerate and caring or courageous and strong in the coming year? What a great leadership skill it is to be considerate of every person’s point of view and have the courage to own and share our own beliefs even when they differ from others in the group. As I represent you as a delegate at the national meeting, I pledge to listen to views from all over the movement and then vote on what I believe is the best decision for all Girl Scouts.

I pledge to be a friend to all and sister to every Girl Scout at this meeting and invite all I meet to come visit GSSNE! Perhaps they will even join our Hoffman Alum group if they get to experience this special place as we count down to the 100th anniversary in just over three years!

Warmly,

Your CEO, Pam
