TINAROO - ATHERTON TABLELANDS

A perfect place to go camping, boating and fishing.

There are a few campsites along the lake with walking tracks and local 4x4 roads to explore.

ROSS & LOCKE - GORDONVALE

A favourite spot for locals, Ross & Locke is a 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' spot along the Gillies Highway.

In addition to 4x4 tracks, Ross & Locke is a great

place for a swim on a humid Cairns day - just remember to pack the mozzie spray.

Wooroonooran National Park - YUNGABURRA

Halfway between Cairns and Innisvale, this World Heritage site has heaps of places to go camping and bush walking.

GREAT BARRIER REEF

If you visit Cairns, the one thing you MUST do is go fishing on the Reef.

If you don't feel like hiring a bunch of gear (or bringing your own) you can head out on a fishing charter-boat.

Most boats will provide transport, tackle and bait for a small fee.
