Every Student Succeeds Act 2015 Good For Private Schools Private Schools may now receive additional government funding thanks to new ESSA guidelines. TITLE 1 ALLOCATIONS MAY INCREASE Private schools may receive an increase in Title 1 allocations as public schools will need to participate in equitable distribution of funds FUNDS FOR TEACHER SERVICES Funding for teacher services in private schools may increase based upon their public school district’s total Title II-A allocation. EQUITABLE GRANT PARTICIPATION ESSA introduced two new grant programs, one for Student Support and Academic Enrichment and one for High Ability Learners and Learning. Private and public schools must participate equitably in the two grants. OMBUDSMAN TO MONITOR COMPLIANCE States are to designate an ombudsman to monitor the requirements and ensure equitable services to private school students and teachers. WHEN DOES IT GO INTO EFFECT?
