Worcester and Droitwich Branch Worcester Welly Library Worcester Welly Library is a ‘not for profit’ organisation set up in July 2015 with the aim of loaning wellies to parents in need so that they can provide the appropriate footwear for their child (ren). The Welly Library accepts donations from members of the public, service users and volunteers themselves. How it works Donating wellies If you have a pair of wellies that you would like to donate to Worcester Welly Library (WWL), please get in touch with Lottie Smith by phone, email or via the Facebook page, who will be happy to collect them at a time convenient for you. As a thank you for donating to WWL, you may borrow your next pair of wellies at the reduced cost of £1. Once wellies have been accepted by WWL, they are machine washed at 40 degrees, cleaned and checked in order to make them ready for lending. If WWL has an excessive amount of wellies in a particular size and a shortage in another, some pairs may be sold in order to raise funds to buy others that WWL need. We are happy to accept all children’s shoe sizes, but particularly up to the end of Key Stage 1 as many children take part in Forest School and so often need an extra pair at school. Borrowing wellies The selection of wellies available are displayed on the Facebook page in the ‘Wellies’ photo album, together with the size. If you would like to borrow a particular pair, please check with WWLto see if they are available to Worcester and Droitwich Branch Autumn 2015 41
