Worcester and Droitwich Branch The 2 week wait every month was excruciating, it‟s nailbiting enough when trying naturally – add a few doctors, nurses, drugs, and a decreasing bank balance into the pot and it can bring you to your knees. We had 3 failed attempts at IUI, our next option was IVF. As it turned out we were due to fly home for good before we made it to IVF. In some ways I was glad as I really couldn‟t go through any more at the time. As soon as we were settled we went to our GP and handed over our notes from Singapore, she immediately referred us to Gloucester for an appointment with their IVF specialist. The appointment came through for a few months later….but we didn‟t keep it, as I discovered that I was pregnant and due in March!!! We‟d done it!! Yipeee!! Totally unexpected – we were over the moon. I put it down to a drastic change in diet of high protein/ no carbs and Rob put it down to the cooler weather for his boys down under – who knows, perhaps it was both or neither? I suffered terribly with morning sickness all day every day for the first few months, but once that was over it was a relatively straight forward pregnancy – as my midwife put it once on one visit „boringly healthy‟! I remember the week leading up to my due date, I read in my stars that someone talented will join our family this week. Robs stars said that his future lies with a sports stadium.
