Then Ms. Khurana gave her inputs and opened the discussion to the audience and kept the discussion from straying into vague statements. Dr. Pradeep Mallik showed his appreciation for the academic discussion and environment. After almost forty minutes of open discussion where all audience members and dignitaries participated, Prof. Ranjana Harish closed the session summarizing all the important points. She complimented the department, the moderator and the students for an excellent academic discussion. She advised all to read Irigary if anyone was interested in knowing more on the subject. Ms. Crystal received the best participant award and every participant received a certiļ€cate of participation from the Department. The fact that the event had to end due to time constraints showed the sociopolitical relevance of an open conversation on gender studies. The consensus arrived was to hold more such events.
