The Fresher’s Quiz-
Mind Ripple
The Masterminds of PDPU, our quiz club, Mind Ripple was back with yet another brain
challenging event; The Freshers’ Quiz. It was the inaugural event of Mind Ripple where the
1st Year students from all the schools battle it out to prove themselves as the Ace Quizzers
among the new entrants. This event helped create a consciousness of quizzing among the new
students who will represent university at various platforms in future.
The event took place on 28th August 2017 and witnessed an overwhelming response from
over 80 participants who formed 40 teams.
The event began with an introductory
speech followed by the Preliminary
round conducted by our quiz masters
Fariburz Irani and Shubhang Sharma.
From over 40 teams, the rst round
narrowed down to 8 witty teams who
sailed towards the Semi-nals. The
Semi-nals, hosted by Farhan Khimani
and Jinal Patel saw a volley of
questions ranging from Entertainment,
Literature, Sports and Music to Current
affairs, Geography and History .
The rounds consisted of Audio-visual, picture-connect and clue based questions. The 6 teams
which eventually qualied for the Finals , braced themselves for the ultimate battle of the minds as
Quizmasters Eklavya Shetty and Rootu Patel continued to test their wit and patience. The Final
round sparked up a lot of energy, enthusiasm and curiosity as each team tried to ght it out and
take home Grand prizes worth Rs 3500 /- .
The audience actively participated in the
Audience question rounds and were awarded
Chocolates for the same.
