Nicolas Gontard
Kimamaya Boutique Hotel by Odin is the product of Frenchman Nicolas Gontard's vision and
passion. Ater selling an Asia-based international telecommunications business in 2006, he
instinctively felt it was too early to retire to his vineyards in Burgundy. Together with
Norwegian partners Bjorn and Chris Fjelddahl, he embarked on building a luxury brand of
residential properties and hospitality products. One of them was Kimamaya Boutique Hotel
and its associated dining venue, The Barn by Odin. Gontard's passion for Niseko and his
involvement in the community mean he is oten seen sharing a beer and sushi with locals,
jumping on a mountain bike to test-ride the surrounding trails, or sharing insider knowledge
with his guests.
