Phillip’s primary role for the AgEagle is carrying a camera capable of detecting the Near Infrared (NIR) light spectrum reflected by crops. The more NIR reflected, the healthier the crop. Using this technology, the Falcon UAV team and the landowner are able to pin point problem areas many weeks before crop stress becomes visually evident. This saves farmers thousands of dollars and highlights those plants that are very healthy and do not need any chemical treatment. It saves money, and increase yield!

Phillip continues, “The entire system is turn-key, we have everything required to fly and process crop health imagery within a few hours of flying. We achieve better resolution and are timelier than satellite data and more economical than manned aircraft.”

Not shy of a pun Phillip says. “The use of autonomous drones and providing high value aerial data for the agricultural industry is certainly taking off.”
