ASPHALT B U L C ER PO S KARL GAMSBY INTERVIEW BY SKIDDY PHOTOS BY AXEL GESCHKE SKIDDY: I just want to say thank you for existing, Instagram and life as we know it would suck without Asphalt Poser Club., and in the words of my mothers and my best impression of her, I would like to say “Your doing the Lords Work” APC: Ha! Well thank you. I’m stoked that there’s some real folks out there that appreci- ate what the club is doing. SKIDDY: How did the name come about? APC: Just a culmination of random ideas. I used asphalt because I thought most people (myself included) would probably misspell urethane. I always knew I wanted to play with the topic of being a poser. Some people think it’s the most offensive term they can be called. To me it just conjures up an outdated 80’s surfing theme and that cracks me up. The club aspect was just a fun way to tie the skateboarding community together. The name is purposely awkward and stupid. It cracks me up saying it out loud. SKIDDY: I Love it, your humor and the post you choose are always a home run in my book. Any blowback from the adult scooter community? APC: Wait what? There’s an adult scooter com- munity? If so, I’m sure they’re mature enough to realize that a little friendly ribbing is to be expected. You can’t just bust on the scene
