Dave Mutarelli. With a chuckle, Jeff says they
began discussing the next phase as soon as it
was finished. In 2014, he returned home with
extra dough to burn from a construction gig he
worked in Austria. A lumber package was deliv-
ered two weeks later, and Jeff and his homies
completed the bowl about a month later.
The crew consisted of Mutarelli, Bryan Land-
grover, Ben Ashworth, and Devin McGuire - all
experienced bowl builders. Greg “Psycho” Wil-
liamson welded the coping. “Yeah, if it wasn’t
for those guys it never would’ve happened,”
says Jeff. Mutarelli, the team’s “brainchild,” cut
the ribs for the transitions in his shop, and each
one was numbered and delivered on a trailer.
The team assembled the pieces on-site like a
puzzle. “That was the whole key to it going as
smooth as it did. I’m just thankful that I know
people that know how to do this and have done
it a lot. I loved the whole process of building
that thing, it was fucking sick” says Jeff.
Ben Hatchell stopped by the backyard recently.
Jeff’s been skating with him since 2001 when
a Vans park opened at a mall in Woodbridge.
Hatchell says, “Swayne’s is one of the sickest
places in Virginia to go because it’s raw skate-
