ycle Maniac N GROVER another. Now, we have a pretty solid crew of riders that ride like David and I. We have a few guys from Santa Ynez and Santa Barbara (where I live), but mostly from Ventura, Camarillo or Santa Paula (where David's from). These guys can rail and are good stand up people, that also like to do stand-up wheelies. 8. Have you ever been in a knife fight at a biker bar? This question made me laugh. Everyone thinks that people who ride Harleys get into bar fights. I am too busy riding to get into fights. The only time I got into a knife fight at a biker bar was with a damn chewy tri-tip sandwich. That thing was so over cooked. Maybe I am spoiled with Big Tom’s tri-tip sandwiches at Cold Springs, but that thing was like eating a deflated tire. Nothing would cut through it, not even my EDC knife. I ended up just eating the side of corn and throwing the sandwich away. All good in the long run, they gave my money back and I have been back many times since. I just don’t order the tri-tip anymore PHOTO BY "JERSEY" MIKE FULLINGTON 5. What’s your favorite thing to skate or ride? When I was younger, I was a ledge and an ollie guy. I use to be able to ollie over trash cans on flat ground and do about everything on a ledge. In my mid twenties, I skated The Wilderness Bowl, Skate Street and Skate Lab all the time and got pretty good at transition, too. Now a days, I usually just putt around at my friend's private park call The Orchid, just North of Santa Barbara, or roll around with my friend and coworker Cristina on Thursday mornings at the local skatepark before work. Cristina doesn’t ride a skateboard, but is a pretty gnarly rollerskater. She travels around and rollerskates skateparks and full pipes. 6. Do the ladies dig your ride? I have no idea, really. Maybe I have no game or maybe I don't care, but I have never noticed any ladies drooling over my bike. I have never been that guy to just roll up to a bar with an extra helmet and offer a lady a ride home. It might be just the fact I am out riding my bike instead looking at it. Maybe I should change my game up a little. 7. Who's the crew you ride with? For a long time the crew consisted of a few or I will say two, David and I. When we started riding together, I was going through a divorce and his wife was starting up her restaurant. We both had tons of free time to get some riding time in. David has been riding for years prior and gave great advice to me to improve my riding. the weird thing is the whole time we rode, I thought everyone rode as good as David, fast, smooth and scraping pegs. Haha, nope. I found out later that to be VERY untrue. A lot of people would go on only one ride and never want to go again. Eventually, from time to time, one guy would stick, then another, then 9. Why do cops hate you guys so much? I have no idea. You need to ask them. I don't know any cops to ask? But it does seem they have a huge hard-on for guys riding Harleys 10. Shout outs and Thanks yous? First and foremost, thank you goes out to my good friend David Lippert and his family. God only knows where I would be without his guidance.
