Slums Lot is located on prime real estate,
along a major transportation corridor that is
ripe for redevelopment. The location is too
valuable to remain vacant for long. Eventually
Slums Lot will be replaced with condos, coffee
shops, and cookie-cutter corporations. When
that inevitable day arrives, Rastatter will take
his trowel and seek out his next cutty project.
“It’s definitely about developing a community
of skateboarders that want to skate outside
the skate park, where there aren’t any guidelines or rules, and promoting the DIY aspect of
skateboarding,” he says.
