Candy Jacobs is a talented Dutch skategirl that in her carrer was always one of the top
girl in Europe and in the world! She’s on the skateboard from the age of 13 , now more
than 10 years of experience on her shoulders. A few weeks ago she finished on the
podium at the Far n’ High contest in France. In this interview you will read about her
skateboard carrer from the start to the plans for the future ;)
What made you start skateboarding?
I always had loads of energy, once I was bored out of my mind and anoying my
mom and she was like. Take that skateboard we have in the shed and we're going.
She dropped me off at the skatepark and told me she would be back in two hours.
I'm hooked since then.
When you have started?
I started in 2003 so when I was 13.
When did you get your first sponsorship?
I use to skate at our local skatepark and one of the owners was the owner of a
skateshop in our city, Blender, it was my first sponsor. The second one I still have, this
guy came up to me in the skatepark and he told me he was the manager of a
brand, Reell, and if I still skated in a year he would sponsor me, I never even heard
of brands sponsoring 'normal' skaters. And he held to his word, a year later I was
still skating and since then Reell is sponsoring me.
