Welcome to Sir John Deane’s How to enrol Enrolments are welcome from 27th November 2017. YOU CAN ENROL: • By telephone: You can book your place on any of the courses by phoning the Adult Education Team on 01606 810025 and making a credit or debit card booking. • In person: The office is open from 9.00am to 3.00pm from Monday to Friday. Please note that we will be closed for Christmas from 21/12/17 to 08/01/18. Payments must be received at the time of enrolment. • By post: Enrolment forms can be obtained via our website www.sjd.ac.uk or by telephoning the Adult Education Office: 01606 810025. Please complete and return to the Adult Education department with a cheque – please bear in mind that places may not be available by the time we receive your cheque. • Please note Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College will be closed for half term from 19/02/18 to 26/02/18. For further information: If you would like to request a detailed course information sheet or have a query about any of our courses, please do not hesitate to contact us on the above number, in person, or visit our website: www.sjd.ac.uk @SJDAdulted Course fees for short courses: (14 weeks or less) must be paid in full at the time of enrolment – you can pay either in person, by telephone or post, using cash, cheque, credit or debit card (excluding American Express and Diners Club). Course fees for long courses: (15 weeks or more) can be paid in full at the time of enrolment or as 50% at enrolment and 50% via a post-dated cheque. Fee remission • If you are in receipt of ESA you may be entitled to partial remission of tuition fees on some courses (evidence is required at enrolment). Further details can be obtained from the Adult Education Department. • There is no fee remission on dance, exercise, music, singing or Saturday classes. There is no remission for examination fees. Refunds: If we have to cancel a course because of low enrolment, a full refund will be given to students who have pre-enrolled. Courses with fewer than the relevant minimum number of students may, at the discretion of the Sir John Deane’s, have the option of continuing on payment of a supplementary fee. Sir John Deane’s cannot guarantee that the courses listed in this prospectus will run, or that they will necessarily be repeated in future programmes. Fees may be subject to change because of government funding reviews, which can happen at any time, or because of price changes made by awarding bodies. Current fees will always be confirmed at enrolment and updated here and on our website as soon as we are aware of any changes. NO SMOKING Sir John Deane’s is a no-smoking campus and therefore smoking is forbidden anywhere on the site, including the Leisure Centre. Students and tutors who need to smoke should do so off the site without causing a nuisance to members of the public or to nearby residents and businesses. Refunds cannot be given if you withdraw within 2 weeks of the start of any course or once the course has started. A non-refundable administration fee of £20 per course is incorporated into all fees and is charged to all part-time students, including those who qualify for full remission of tuition fees.
