Music Technology is the study of music that is performed or created using computers and other hardware devices, as well as traditional recording methods. It includes close analytical study of recording techniques, composition and musical styles throughout the 20th and 21st century. A-Level Music Technology consists of the following components: Recording, technology based composition, listening and analysing, and producing and analysing. HOW IS THE COURSE ASSESSED?     Component 1: Recording. Externally assessed, 20% of the qualification. Component 2: Technology Based Composition. Externally assessed, 20% of the qualification. Component 3: Listening and Analysing. Written examination 1hr 30 minutes, 25% of the qualification. Component 4: Producing and Analysing. Written/practical examination 2hr 15 minutes, 35% of the qualification. 29
