C SirJohnDeanes A SirJohnDeanes www.sjd.ac.uk Transport Sir John Deane’s attracts students from across Cheshire and beyond. The College currently operates bus services from Warrington, Halton, South Manchester, Congleton, Sandbach, Crewe and Nantwich as well as Helsby, Frodsham and Kingsley, picking up at a number of stops along the way. These buses are accommodated within the College site. Public transport is available from many other areas too, full details of which can be found on the College website. Driving Where possible, we do encourage students to walk, cycle or use the bus. Those who wish to drive can apply for a permit to park their c ar on campus. There is no charge for this. Money Financial assistance Students may be eligible for financial assistance with the cost of books, equipment, transport, College meals or educational visits from the 16-19 Bursary Fund. Full details of this are available on our website, or alternatively you can contact a member of the finance team. Foundation Governors' Fund Students completing a year of voluntary service between sixth form and University or competing at national or international level sport may apply to the Principal and Foundation Governors for a grant to support them in their endeavour. Contribution During enrolment, students are asked to make a small contribution to the College Fund. This is a voluntary contribution covering the two years that you invest at Sir John Deane’s. It is used to help support enrichment activities and other opportunities, which enhance an individual’s experience. 45
