The Business Environment
The aim of this unit is to give learners the fundamental knowledge of a range of business organisations and the many factors that shape the nature of organisations operating in an increasingly complex business world .
Business Resources
This unit introduces learners to the resources that businesses require to operate on a daily business and begin to understand the basics of accountancy .
Creative Production Promotion
The aim of this unit is to give learners an opportunity to learn about the promotional mix and the related topics of buyer behaviour and branding , before going on to design their own small-scale promotional campaign .
Starting a Small Business
Learners will begin to understand the skills needed to set up and run a business and the regulations that need to be complied with . You will have the opportunity to prepare a detailed business plan for your own business idea .
Introduction to Marketing
You will evaluate the marketing activities of different companies and produce a list of ‘ Market Leading Marketers ’. You will produce a report describing , comparing and evaluating the marketing activities of two companies in relation to their own products .

Read Chapter 1 of “ BTEC Business : Book 1 : Level 3 ” by John Bevan ; Helen Coupland-Smith ; Rob Dransfield ; Catherine Richards .
Business Communication
In this unit you will investigate the information and communication methods used at The Trafford Centre . This will include individual work describing types of information , where the information originates from and the purpose of the information . All tasks are related to research carried out on The Trafford Centre and how they manage and communicate information .
