This exciting BTEC course is an ideal choice for students with entrepreneurial
ambitions who want to cover a range of business areas including marketing, finance
and communications.
The course introduces students to a wide range of business topics through a variety
of vocational assessment methods. These methods include coursework, controlled
assessment, business reports and role play.
What will I study?
This fascinating course covers areas
such as the business environment,
which looks at different types
of businesses and the effects of
the economy, as well as business
resources, which provides a great
introduction to finance.
You will also get to study marketing
and business communication
as well as other areas including
business ethics, human resources
and enterprise. You will learn about
managing and running an event
and create a business plan for your
own business idea.
Co-curricular activities?
Students will study local businesses
and there are planned opportunities
to visit Chester Zoo and the Trafford
Centre, amongst others.
Where might it lead?
Business Studies can prepare
you for a career in management,
accountancy, banking, marketing,
retail or simply running your own
business. All our students leave
Sir John Deane’s more aware of
themselves as a consumer in the
modern world and most importantly,
of the power that gives them.
