Summary of Content
The BTEC courses offer a broad basis of study for the
health and social care sector. These qualifications are
designed to support progression to higher education
when taken as part of a programme of study that
includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A levels.
Health and Social Care is for anyone interested in
working with people of a variety of ages, in a range
of settings. You could work with: babies and children,
people with special needs or learning difficulties,
families and young people and the elderly. If you
have an approachable, trustworthy, enthusiastic and
compassionate nature, this is an ideal course for you.
Preparation for September
We don’t expect you to do any preparation as such for
September, but it would do you no harm to volunteer
in a care setting over the summer break in order to
get some work experience so that you can apply your
experience to aspects of the course.
