Sin City Presents Magazine February 2019 Volume 6 Issue 2 - Page 22

Well here we are, our 50th issue of Sin City Presents Magazine, a bit of a milestone for an entertainment magazine, and it’s been one helluva ride so far! In fact, it’s been somewhat of a journey of self-discovery for me. I’ve never really been passionate about anything in life other than working hard at my j.o.b. whatever it happened to be at any given point in my life… until I started this magazine.

It’s ironic that I would be the creator of a magazine… I never enjoyed writing in school, hated research and reading novels or any kind of book was never something that I enjoyed. My mother was an English major so you would think she’d be the writer…

I don’t have a background in entertainment or music however, I’ve always been intrigued by people with passion, creativity and talent. Every story that appears in the pages of this magazine celebrates those things. I think we’ve built a special community that continues to grow with each issue as we highlight fascinating people, places and things in my home town, Las Vegas. We offer an opportunity for others to share their passions and talent not just in those we feature but for those that contribute their time and talent to make each issue possible, the writers, the photographers and contributors in each issue are all insanely talented.

In an age where people rarely read anything of consequence or length starting a magazine was a big risk. What did I know about being an editor? NOTHIING! That’s what I knew… I knew I wanted to do something that encompassed all of the areas of my life that connected all of the things I care about, our community, our business and my husband’s love of music.

As we commemorate our 50th issue it’s surreal to look back at those featured on the covers and in the pages. It’s a reminder that the years go by fast, one day we were watching some of these people on MTV and in the blink of an eye we are sitting with them one-on-one listening to their tales of triumph and the challenges they encountered along the way.

The challenge has been in the evolution we’ve grown from a simple webzine to offering print copies on demand. We've sponsored events, partnered with community organizations and hosted The Shredder Awards, our first signature event in 2018. We’ve learned a lot of lessons, took many bumps on the head but we continue to grow and evolve. We’ve been blessed to have had so many amazing people join us on this journey, everyone, contributors, advertisers, fans, followers and readers, you’re the energy that feeds the beast. Thank you to everyone who has included Sin City Presents magazine in their lives.

In my journey thus far through the power of these 50 issues I’ve discovered that I do indeed have a passion… my passion is sharing the passions of others with the world, putting them in the spotlight and letting them shine.

Let’s see where the next 50 issues take us…. There’s a world of discoveries to be shared and an infinite number of stories to be told.

One final note… Thank you to my husband who has endured my madness and kept my coffee cup full! I wouldn’t want to share this insanity with anyone else!
