Our cover feature this month is Johnny Roxx (double “X” for double the ROCK!). Johnny was our Sin City Shredder in our 1st anniversary issue in August 2015 so it’s been a while since we’ve caught up with him. Born and raised in Southern California, Johnny has called Sin City home since 2006. He’s been a part of the local scene for more than a decade now and has ridden the storm out during some pretty tough times for live music here in Las Vegas.

By the age of 15, he was playing local clubs throughout California and his '80's bands Aerian Rage & Tarrga played the Sunset Strip throughout the decade. The list of rock icons Johnny has worked and/or performed with is more like a who’s who in rock n roll history including Greg Kihn, Cher, Dee Snider, Vince Neil, Rudy Sarzo, Bob Kulick, Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, The Bay City Rollers, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Dizzy Reed, Jizzy Pearl, Metallica, Terry Leary, Frank DiMino, Oz Fox, Jake E Lee, Duncan Faure and more.

Some milestone or standout moments in Johnny’s career include being featured in Guitar Player Magazine and Guitar for the Practicing Musician Magazine (1992), jamming with Bill Ward and being on shows with Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, and Night Ranger.

Currently signed with Stormspell Records, Johnny’s been as busy in the studio as he has been on the stage. Johnny joined the Stormspell family in 2011 and has been releasing music internationally since. Which brings us to some very exciting news from Johnny.

Hey Johnny! We’ve been watching and know you’ve been busy in the studio so thanks for taking some time out for us this month. We’re very excited about Thunder & ROXX! Can you tell us a little bit about the upcoming Album “Temple Of The Gods”?

Yes, "Temple Of The Gods" is a side project album I recorded with drummer Johnny Thunder Evans. The music is very different than what most people would expect from me, mainly because it's more than just Hard Rock. It also has many of my jazz and fusion influences throughout the record. It's coming out February 26th and we'll be hosting a listening party at Champagnes Cafe that evening from 6pm-9pm. The CD will be available for purchase at the party. We're really excited about the album!
