Sin City Presents Magazine August 2016 Volume 3 Issue 8 - Page 29

Once upon a time there was a little girl that wanted to rock…… and ROCK she does!

With much anticipation of what would be next for Carol-Lyn Liddle since her departure from Raiding the Rock Vault the debut of Carol-Lyn Liddle’s HERSTORY of ROCK finally arrived. The Chrome Showroom at the Santa Fe Station Hotel & Casino was packed with friends and fans. The show was well worth the wait and friends and fans were not disappointed.

You can always tell when the person onstage is doing what they love and what they want to be doing in that exact moment in time and there is no doubt in my mind that Carol-Lyn is doing exactly what she wants to do… a show of her own design, choreographed to her vision. From the very first song decked out to the nines in her best 60’s swag belting out some Janis Joplin the audience was on their feet.

HERSTORY of ROCK takes you on a journey with the women and the songs that rocked our world through the 60’s to the 80’s. My personal favorite of the evening Cher’s “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves” that song just happens to always remind me of a very special person in my life that recently passed, so that song in particular is even more special to me now.

Joining Carol-Lyn on stage in HERSTORY of Rock is husband Patrick Puffer, ad Eden Stollman on Guitars, Bruce Thomsen on Bass, David Farnham, Keys, Steve Wilson, Drums and Dancers :Jessica Wood, and Chandiss Olson all of whom are incredible performers that all absolutely delivered the goods.

As Carol-Lyn belted out one hit after another with swift costume changes between nearly every song for both her and the backup dancers the music never seemed to stop and if it did our attention was diverted to the accompanying video display with clips from historical interviews and performance footage of the rock goddesses she pays homage to in the HERSTORY of ROCK. The room was buzzing with rave remarks and comments regarding Carol-Lyn's ability to recreate hit after hit. “If you close your eyes you’d swear that was Lita Ford on the stage” is one comment that comes to mind.

When the last note was played and they took their final bow I noticed there were tears of joy welled in Carol-Lyn's eyes, knowing she had nailed it and the debut show was just the beginning of a new chapter in her story of rock.

As they exited the stage the crowd roared for an encore! Well we may not have gotten that encore that evening but we will get it on September 3rd when Carol-Lyn Liddle and HERSTORY of ROCK returns to the Chrome Showroom at the Santa Fe Station.

Congratulations Carol-Lyn to you, the band and the dancers…….You NAILED it!
