How to Emotionally Cope with the Holidays

s a child, I never really understood what the
holidays were all about. All I knew it was
a time when I would be getting a lot of gifts. Not
realizing the only reason I received so many gifts
was because my cousin was a district manager at a
toy store. She would have a truck come late every
Christmas Eve and drop off a bunch of toys for my
parents to wrap before Christmas morning.

y Mother explained
later, because I was in
private school at the time it
was hard to buy gifts for me
so it was a great thing that my
cousin was able to give toys
so I would not be disappointed. Later on when I became a
parent I decided to take a different route in explaining and
giving gifts to my children
around the holiday season. It
never fails that every holiday
season parents across the
world feel the pressure of not
being able to buy their children gifts. Not realizing we
have done an awesome job
providing for them all yearlong.
