You Can Do It!! Story by: Acquilla McCoy Can you think of a movie that made you think about a situation in your life? Having more expenses than income? Giving so much of yourself that your needs become neglected? Dealing with a relative, friend, or spouse that does not understand your perspective? Having tasks to accomplish but not enough time? Well, several of us have experienced this amongst other realities; YOU ARE NOT ALONE! At times, it may seem as if you are the only one who is going through what you deem to be your current state of existence but the truth is that many people are living a similar reality and have to figure out solutions just like you. You have to remember that there is always going to be something in your life that you feel can be better until YOU TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND CREATE BALANCE. Now, you are thinking, “if it were that easy, I would have already created balance; it’s not as if I am enjoying the lack of self time or the feeling of being overwhelmed.” At this intersection of thought and reality, we have to take time to ask ourselves if we are truly uncomfortable with our reality or if we have accepted that our reality is the way it is and there is nothing that we can do. But today, there is a message that must be delivered to the parts of your being that waiting for awakening so that you are no longer living a dream. YOU CAN CHANGE ANY ASPECT OF YOUR LIFE IF YOU TRULY DESIRE TO DO SO! YES! YOU REALLY CAN! There are a few things that you can remind yourself in order to begin the transformation and live the life that you are truly designed and desired. You can desire to transform you life and pray or meditate on it daily but if you are not putting forth actions that correlate with these desires you are simply talking aimlessly for the sake of talking. “So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless” (James 2:17 New Living Translation). We have to get out of the habit of begging to the Most High for what we want and begin working with our Creator for the outcomes that we want. You see, it is not enough to say, “I am tired and something has to work out.” We have to define the something. Ask yourself, “What is the SOMETHING?” There are several somethings: a closer relationship with our spouse; improved interactions with our children; a fulfilling career; better time management; more self time; or just more happiness in all aspects of existence. YOU HAVE TO DEFINE WHAT IT IS THAT YOU WANT AND THEN TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES THAT TCAN MAKE THAT SOMETHING INTO A TANGIBLE REALITY! You can definitely, take 30 minutes to one hour a day and put focused energy towards the implementation of a plan of action to turn your hope, dream, or desire into a realization. You can sit outside, go to the park, relax at Panera Bread, or exercise in order to give yourself breathing time to really think
