S ince launching the “Make the Switch” program in
September 2017, BurlingtonGreen has encouraged
the residents of Burlington to drastically lessen their
environmental footprint by switching to electric vehicles
and heat pumps.
BurlingtonGreen has been promoting Ontario’s financial
incentives for electric vehicles, with savings up to $14,000
for the purchase of an electric vehicle and $1,000 for the
installation of a home charging station. Additionally, there
are incentives available for heat pumps- up to $4,000 is
offered for the installation of an air source heat pump.
There’s never been a better time to “Make the Switch”!
The Province continues to develop programs and funds
to help implement its Climate Change Action Plan. The
Green Ontario Fund is a one stop shop, highlighting all
the incentives and savings available to Ontario residents
depending on where they live and work. Another great
program is the Affordability Fund, which addresses the
gap in incentives offered, and helps people who do not
qualify for low-income conservation programs or are
unable to undertake energy efficiency improvements
without support.
BurlingtonGreen continues to listen to Burlingtonians,
learning about the specific challenges they face in making
the switch while debunking myths surrounding electric
vehicles and heat pumps. The “Make the Switch” program
will run until the end of March 2018. Learn about

If my body was a car
If my body was a car, this is the time I would be
thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I’ve got
bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my
paint job is getting a little dull...
But that’s not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus, and it’s especially
hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it
once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into
things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with
