Eat, Drink, But Mostly, Be Jolly This Festive Season!
– By Claire Faver
I t truly is the most wonderful time of the year. Snowflakes
are falling, Christmas trees and lights are in full display and the
masses at the malls are picking out the perfect gifts for their
loved ones. In the days leading up to Christmas, for some it
seems like the holiday can’t come soon enough, yet others may
feel overwhelmed by the obligations of the season. So while
you’re counting down the days, curl up by the fire, pour some
hot cocoa and enjoy these tips for beating the holiday stress!
Take Time Out for Yourself
The hustle and bustle of the holidays can be exhausting.
While you’re so busy thinking about others and making
plans with family and friends, remember to allow yourself
time to breathe. Treat yourself to a bubble bath, attend a
yoga class, or try meditating at least once a day. Above all,
put your well-being first. Even if this means you might miss
an opportunity here or there, you’ll enjoy the ones you don’t
miss so much more.
Keep it Affordable
Remember, the holidays don’t have to be expensive. Keep in
mind the real reason you’re celebrating to help put things into
perspective. Have a budget, and stick to it, no-matter what.
Keep Entertaining Simple
Entertaining doesn’t have to be anything huge or extravagant.
There’s no doubt that the majority of folks take great pleasure
in holiday baking and cooking, but let’s face it, at times it
can be too much. Give yourself a break from the kitchen by
ordering take-out or delivery from your favourite restaurant.
Enjoy quality time that the Holidays ring in. A time to eat,
drink and be merry together with family and friends. •
