– Heather Rath
Heather Rath worked as a reporter, then editor of a weekly newspaper
before becoming head of communications for a multi-national company.
Today, she dedicates her time to traveling and writing alongside her husband.
“After spending a hot fall season in the Yucatan Peninsula, we flew home for
Christmas with the family. Imagine our delight the morning after our return
when we awoke to a soft beautiful blanket of snow!” Heather’s writing has
been widely published, and she has received various coveted awards for it.
But for Heather, there’s no place like home. She has been living in Burlington

– Gary Santucci
Musician Gary Santucci and arts activist Barbara Milne created the Pearl
Company – an arts and performance facility in the heart of downtown Hamilton.
For the past years, the Pearl Company launched a number of arts initiatives
including the ARTBus, the Opus Mundi festival, as well as numerous art openings,
festivals and workshops. Alongisde Barbara, they received the City of Hamilton
Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement, in 2008. Gary has also been the recipient
of the City of Hamilton Arts Award for Music, while in 2013 the Pearl Company
was named Hamilton’s “Music Award Theatre of the Year”. Today, Gary continues
to better the community by refurbishing homes to provide affordable housing.
