Guiding families to happier, healthier lifestyles:

We are uniting in efforts with Burlington Green Environmental Group,
to #SkipTheStraw. Whether you’re an establishment that hands out straws
to your customers, or a consumer who’s eating out, please consider skipping
the straw altogether.
Straw Facts:
• In the U.S. alone, over 500 MILLION
straws are thrown i n the garbage every
day. That’s like filling up 127 school
buses with straws every single day; like
circling around the earth 2.5 times every
day! In Canada, straw use is about the
same per-capita.
• Straws are too small and lightweight to
be recycled properly, so they end up in
the garbage (in our landfills).
• Plastic straws will never biodegrade.
While they break down into smaller
and smaller pieces, they leach out toxic
chemicals into our soil and our envi-
ronment.
• Straws are used for around 20 minutes
before being tossed away, which is an
astonishing quick lifespan for an item
that will be on the planet forever.
If you’re a restaurant owner:
1 Make straws optional:
2 If you MUST serve them, look into eco straws:
3 Sign our pledge form, receive THREE gifts!
Serve your customers their drinks without automatically
adding in a straw. Only provide them with one if they
request it (most will not).
If a customer should require a straw because of physical
challenges, choose paper biodegradable straws to hand
out. These are available everywhere online (even dollar
and office supply stores sell them for a great price).
Visit our website at www.kidsnaturally.ca/strawssuck
and sign our “Straw-Free” pledge. We will gift you a
starter package of biodegradable paper straws, AND
a “Skip the Straw” template to print and put on your
tables, so your customers know your efforts (they’ll
appreciate it!). This also helps create awareness for the
cause. PLUS, we will promote you online! (On our
website, Facebook and Twitter).
Help us say NO to the plastic straw!
