Foot Care Special SENIORS DAY $ 35 Inquire for details Summer-Healthy Feet After a long winter, vacations and outdoor activities are now a priority, which means increased time spent on your feet. Here are some tips to keep you on your feet during this busy season: Wear Smart, Protective Shoes – Wear comfortable footwear with arch support and a padded sole. Use shoes/sandals that have adjustable closures, especially during more humid days when feet swell – to avoid blisters. Besides the needed support and control, footwear protects your feet (especially the soles) from unsuspecting objects that can cause cuts and scrapes. Massage Your Feet – Release tension, increase circulation and rejuvenate the skin after a long day on your feet. Using a moisturizing lotion will also keep skin soft. Rotate Your Ankles – Relax your feet by rotating your ankles, cupping your heel and turning each ankle slowly five times. This loosens the ankle joints and releases tension in the ligaments. As always, no doctor referral is necessary - call us! Foot care & Orthotic Centre Acupuncture Relieve pain, improve sleep, digestion and more Time for pain-free golf! Here’s how to improve your game and keep you pain free: • Warm up! Arrive at least 20 min before your tee time to hit a few practice balls and find your rhythm – this is the number one way to prevent injuries • Keep your entire body involved. Every so often, take a few practice swings with the opposite hand to keep your muscles balanced and even out stress on the back • Learning proper swing technique is critical. At the end of the swing, you want to be standing up straight – your back should not be twisted • Avoid metal spikes as they can increase stress on your back. Soft shoes or soft spikes allow for greater motion • Finish every round with a cool down/stretching routine that includes the hips, knees, shoulders and wrists • Do not play if you’re injured! If you are dealing with an injury or experiencing pain, consult a health care practitioner and visit us at OMNI CLINICS. Remember: It is always better to treat injuries sooner rather than later!
