HAPPENINGS AT THE GARDENS
From July 1 to 26 Royal Botanical Gardens will be bursting
with vibrant colours, scents and sounds with the arrival of
Panorama, a festival celebrating the nature, culture and
heritage of the Americas and the Caribbean, showcased in
the beauty of Hendrie Park.
Featured Gardens
Plant Treasures of the New World – The search for plants
launched the great Voyages of Discovery in the 14th and 15th
centuries. This new garden showcases the plants of the Pan
American region that are now grown and used globally for
food, beverages, medicines, textiles, cosmetics, landscaping
and more. This garden also features plants used in Aboriginal
cultures, and plants that moved from the New World to the
Old World.
Veggie Village – comes alive with colour and spice with Chili
Peppers: Heating up the World, a feature garden showcasing the
diversity of capsicum annum cultivars including the hottest
of the hot ‘Bhut Jolokia’ – the Ghost Pepper.
