INJURY OR PAIN,
THAT NEVER LEAVES?
– By Dr. Philip Lee, ND
If you have tried many therapies to improve your
pain, chances are you may not have tried this one!
In the 1950’s Dr. George S. Hackett, a general
surgeon in the United States, started to inject different
irritant solutions to the joint with the intention
to repair them, as well as weakened ligaments,
tendons, and hernias. This type of therapy is called
Prolotherapy, and it also helps to relieve lower back
pain, tendonitis and even osteoarthritis.
Prolotherapy, short for “proliferation therapy,”
is known as the non-surgical ligament and tendon
reconstruction, or regenerative injection therapy. The
safe solution is injected to stimulate the body’s own
natural healing mechanisms in order to repair injured
musculoskeletal tissue by producing new collagen
and cartilage.
Before treatment:
Bone-on-bone.
After treatment:
New cartilage.
Thanks Dr. Philip!
Registered Naturopathic Doctor
Prolotherapy treatment sessions are generally given
every two to six weeks for 3 to 6 months, and often
performed by a Naturopath.
Over the years many have been using this therapy
successfully to speed up healing process by using
dextrose and other types of safe solutions.
There are dozens of studies supporting the benefits
of Prolotherapy for both acute and chronic pain
especially for pain in the knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow,
back, hip areas, as well as for Tennis Elbow, Varicose
veins, Herniated discs, Carpal Tunnel syndrome,
etc. The therapy is safe and has minimal side effects.
If you have not tried this therapy, its worth
considering! •
