Eat Your Fruit – Don’t Drink It!
Oil your CAR, not your baby
T raditional baby oil is typically mineral oil, a petroleum-
based ingredient. Mineral oil coats the skin just like a plastic
wrap and messes with your baby’s natural immune barrier.
This inhibits the skin’s ability to breathe and compromises
its capacity to release toxins. All in all, bad news for baby.
If you feel your baby’s skin needs the extra moisturizing
power of an oil, reach for a safe and natural alternative to
baby oil. The most eco-friendly baby products are actually
simple oils you already have in your pantry: Organic coconut
oil and organic cold pressed olive oil are two great safe
baby oil alternatives.
W hen your children drink
a glass of orange juice, they’re
literally consuming the juice
of four oranges – in minutes.
You may not see this as a bad
thing, but this high concentration
of fructose overload is very difficult
for the liver to digest all at once,
and so it converts it to fat and sugar,
and can make one feel sluggish – plus
it’s too acidic for teeth and tummy.
By comparison, it’s the same
amount of fructose (and the same
reaction in the body) as drinking a
glass of sugary soft drink!
Better eat the fruit with all its
fibre goodness, and just drink
water.•
