“What did school mean to you? To me, it meant
everything! It was there I developed my love of art, music,
poetry, and the imagination and creativity that have
served me well throughout life. It was my wonderful grade
two teacher, Miss Hatfield – with the lavender hair, and
clothing I found so irresistible – who was responsible for
my love of fashion and colour today, and who inspired me
to become a teacher, with her warmth, encouragement,
and patience. I still remember her inviting my Mom and
I for tea one Saturday, influencing me to continue lifelong
relationships with many of my own students, and their
families. Teachers inspire, and help you reach for the stars!”
