O n June 27th, residents and staff at Heritage Place
Retirement Residence took part in an unforgettable
interactive drumming experience, facilitated by The
Drum Café. The three-member percussion team begun
by demonstrating African drumming and within minutes,
participants smiled and played, uniting to a common beat.
Percussion instruments have a sense of rhythm that
everyone naturally has in them, and as the event went on,
everyone begun to connect to one rhythm connecting the
beat stronger and stronger. This event united people of
all ages and abilities together, while fostering a sense of
accomplishment and joy.
“Unite, Uplift and Inspire” was part of a resident and
staff event at Heritage Place this past June, in celebration
of Senior’s Month.•
