Research Expedition Brief Expedition Overview | Page 9

In the evenings we anchor in beautiful, secluded bays where you will get the change to go ashore and explore. You will never stay in the same location twice (apart from the first and last evenings at the rendezvous location.) The expeditions are a great way to explore the beautiful Hebridean islands whilst having a positive impact on the area.

What areas will be covered during the expedition?

Over the course of the field season, we will aim to gather data across the length and breadth of the west coast of Scotland.  There are three different rendezvous locations which will allow access to different areas of the Hebrides: Tobermory, Mallaig and Ullapool.  Each expedition will start and finish at these locations, with overnight stops at different anchorages in between.  The route will be dependant on the weather forecast and also what areas have already been surveyed.  Each morning, the crew on board will outline where the anchorage will be that evening.
