The operation already runs two Ricoh Pro C9110 heavy duty digital colour sheetfed presses, a Ricoh Pro 907EX and a Ricoh Pro L4160 large format printer. The company has added the Ricoh Pro T7210 to help it deliver a variety of applications that are currently being outsourced. The result is a faster job delivery time and greater production flexibility. It also allows Magneet to work more closely with its clients and offer advice on topics including material types and different production possibilities. ‘I believe the Ricoh Pro T7210 will deliver a wide range of production capabilities. At the moment we are testing to see what the different possibilities are,’ said Mathieu Levens, director of Magneet. ‘We chose Ricoh because we already work with various Ricoh production systems and are very satisfied with them. Moreover, we are convinced that Ricoh will do everything it can to ensure Magneet is a success.’ Thanks to VinylPlus’ unique role in engaging an entire value chain, the voluntary commitment has succeeded in recycling more than four million tonnes of PVC since 2000. VinylPlus, the voluntary commitment to sustainable development of the European PVC industry, has committed to recycling a minimum of one million tonnes of PVC per year by 2030. Since 2000, VinylPlus has been a pioneer in the Circular Economy. It has backed the European Commission’s call to increase recycling of plastics by committing to recycle at least 900,000 tonnes of PVC per year into new products by 2025, a significant contribution to the overall 10 million tonnes objective set by the Commission for the plastic industry. Looking further ahead, VinylPlus has also committed to recycling a minimum of one million tonnes per year by 2030. ‘For nearly 20 years, VinylPlus has led the way to a circular economy by improving the sustainability performance of PVC. Because our programme brings together the entire value chain – PVC manufacturers, additives producers, converters and recyclers – we responded immediately to the Commission’s call for voluntary pledges from the plastics industry. We welcome this initiative, which highlights the foresight shown by VinylPlus in establishing its first voluntary commitment,’ said Brigitte Dero, VinylPlus’ general manager. The Netherlands based 3D Next Level invested in the large format 3D printer for visual communications to expand its application capabilities and undertake a more diverse range of projects in order to win new business. Commenting on the integration of the Massivit 1800, Lennart van den Doel, co-founder and co- owner of 3D Next Level said, ‘The Massivit 1800 is the last piece of the puzzle. With this solution, we can truly stand out from the competition as we are the only company in the Benelux to offer large format 3D printing with the capability to produce attention-grabbing models. I believe these applications will genuinely increase our clients’ customer interaction and exposure.’ While looking to enhance its 3D printing capability, the family-run company was introduced to the Massivit 1800 by Digital Dot at the industry trade show RapidPro. According to van den Doel, he was amazed by the scale achievable with the printer. ‘The capability to create huge, eye-catching models unlocks the door to new and varied business opportunities as it enables our customers to better engage with their audience,’ he said.
