SIGNARAMA HONOURS FRANCHISEES
The Signarama franchise group recently held their
national conference in the Dinokeng area, north
east of Gauteng. The conference took place over
three days, covered training and team building
events, and culminated in the Signarama Gala
Awards Dinner, where the top achievers in the
Signarama franchise network were recognised.
The conference forms a major part of the support
that the Signarama franchise offers to their
franchisees. It gives franchisees the opportunity
to break away from their businesses and aside
from the training and updates provided by the
franchise office support team, gives franchisees the
opportunity to benefit from peer-to-peer learning.
Kurt Tyack, franchisor for Signarama, believes that
one of the strongest resources that any franchisor
can offer to their network is other franchisees.
According to Tyack, this was particularly evident at
the conference, where some of the highest rated
sessions were franchisee-led discussions.
The event was also used to introduce the marketing
plan until the group’s 20th anniversary in 2020,
and the launch of a new look showroom. The event
was not ‘all work and no play’. The franchisees
were tasked with cooking their own dinner on the
Friday evening of the event. This involved a number
of challenges, including starting their own fire,
building it to a large flame and cooking a potjie,
followed by a game drive and sundowners.
Top achievers in the Signarama group were
recognised at the Signarama Gala Awards Dinner.
‘We believe that all of our franchisees deserve
an award in some shape or form, but this event
highlighted those franchisees who truly do go
above and beyond and deserve some special

recognition’, explained Tyack.

Director Charles Phahlane explained that, in terms
of the Angola branch, the company is able to take
payment in Kwanzas, removing the burden of
foreign exchange conversion: ‘This will give comfort
to businesses in Angola, which may have struggled
to procure quality banners, flags, gazebos, etc. in
local currency.’ Edison Pitra is currently managing
the sales office in Luanda.
The company anticipates further growth,
particularly after partaking in the recent Sign Africa
and FESPA Africa Expo. PopUp products found the
event beneficial in that it introduced the company
to the broader market in Africa: ‘We are certainly
following up on the leads from the expo and are
confident that our company will grow from strength
to strength due to our participation at the event,’
added Phahlane.
