HEATHEN ROCK

HEATHEN ROCK is one of the first festivals of the year in Germany. Shutterwall Magazine had photographer DIRK JACOBS at the scene of the crime, to investigate in a visual way, what it is all about.

For almost 10 years now these guys serve the best of music of all named genres.

Its like coming home on the other side of the Elbe river in Hamburg. The price for 10 Bands is about € 32. That's € 3,20 per band in total. And yes, headliner this year was CREMATORY. These guys just came back from a tour in Russia where they played large concerts to serve the whole family.

Heathen Rock can claim best season starter, because there is music from noon till midnight.

What is missing is the red light district rippoff you are used from the other side of the city.

Here it was like every second was worth the money and at the beer was served in pitchers. Metal-sized beers!

The changeovers between sets only took a few minutes so it was a hell of a professional show.

Free WLAN signal all over the place and every band came to the meet and greet to join the

crowd.

This years lineup consisted of BEATRAY, STRYDEGOR, MONOLITH, WELICORUSS, MOONCRY, THRUDVANGAR, UNLIGHT,

NITROGODS, FINSTERFORST and CREMATORY.

For a flashback to times long forgotten, where festivals were still about the music, and only the music, HEATHEN ROCK is a must visit festival.
