The combination of it all made this shoot seem unobtainable for a long time. Then came Tiffany. I worked with Tiffany on a number of previous shoots and I always knew she could pull off the look, but when I discovered that she loved snakes I knew it was go time for my concept. I pitched my idea to her and she ran with it. She immediately started working on her outfit. To my surprise, she also had a friend with snakes. The big, colorful ones I so desired. Luck was on my side! We chose one of the best makeup artists in the area and booked our date. Seeing Tiffany in full costume with her hair and makeup complete was almost surreal to me. She had completely transformed herself into the exact vision I had in my head for so long. Once we were on location and ready to shoot, she wrapped that snake around herself and started her dance. She stepped right into character and made my job feel effortless. Looking at these photos gives me a great sense of pride and accomplishment. I conquered this vision. But I have so many moreā€¦. This shoot was a fun collaboration between myself and Tiffany. I had wanted to do a fun photoshoot with snakes for a while, but I knew the vision I had would be difficult to pull off. First, I needed someone who would let me use their snakes. To make the search more difficult, I wanted large, bright colored snakes; not the easiest thing to find. Next, I needed a model whose physical features fit the vision I had in my head. I also needed her to either know how to belly dance, or at least have enough knowledge of belly dancing to be able to pose convincingly. Next, my model needed to be comfortable allowing a large snake to wrap itself around her body as she posed. Any look of fear or uneasiness would surely show on her face and ruin the carefree expression I was going for.
