At that moment I realized everything I was trying was just a band aid. I needed to get to the root cause of my problem. I needed to get my body back in balance!

So, naturally, I start asking clients. "Hey have you heard of this Plexus stuff?" Oddly, none of them had heard of it, so I started telling them why it was different. It focused on balanced blood sugar, inflammation and gut health. Sure enough, they

wanted to try it! Now, mind you, I wanted nothing to do with network marketing after all the other wasted MLM experiences. I wasn’t about to jump into that again. I was convinced it didn't work. However, I was already doing the business and not even knowing it. We all do network marketing everyday by sharing stories or recommending our favorite things. Difference is we just don't get paid for it,

someone else does.

My products finally came and I couldn't wait to get started. Within the first week, I noticed better sleep and more energy. I saw that the scale was up a little bit but I didn't panic. I did my research and I told myself I’m going to trust the process. So I

continued to stay consistent and about 60 days later I was down 10lbs, had more energy, less cravings and I felt great. So you're probably thinking I'm describing a magic pill huh?

After a year of telling people about these products, helping others and getting healthier by the day, I hit the rank of Emerald! Emerald rank is a six figure income, an earned trip to Hawaii and a Lexus. I was on the high of my life.

The same night I hit the rank I had worked hard for and dreamed about, my grandma went into the hospital. I dropped everything and rushed to the hospital to find out she could barely speak and that this was it for her. I was able to tell her I earned the car and the proud look she had in her eyes I'll never forget. The next day, I was leaving for this exact trip I'm on now. My family told me I must go and that she would want me to. I said goodbye to her knowing she wouldn't be there when I came back.

I picked up my broken heart and headed to Texas. When I was there, I was asked to speak by corporate where I told my story and inspired others that no matter what life throws at you, you must keep going and see the positive. My story is to inspire others to push through their tough times and believe in themselves. That's exactly what my grandma would have wanted.

You're probably thinking what does this have to do with fitness?

After my grandma's passing, I felt lost and heartbroken. I knew myself well enough that if I didn't put my energy into something healthy I would go down a bad road. I had seen a few friends who did figure competitions and I thought, “Wow, good for them but I was no where near ready for something like that!”

It was New Year’s Eve and we were celebrating with my in-laws. As tradition, we all shared something we wanted to accomplish in the next coming year. I said I think I want to do a figure competition, as I was eating a piece of cake. Let's just say they were encouraging

but probably didn't take me very seriously. Anyone who knows me knows that when I make the decision to commit to something there is no stopping me. I decided to go ALL IN! So that's exactly what I did! I chose a coach and in February 2017, we began coaching, nutrition planning and training.

I remember the overwhelming feeling of walking in the gym with these people who

were fit and knew their way around. Here is me, with my sheet of work outs, analyzing the equipment, trying to figure how how to work it. I remember thinking “what did i get myself into!” “I don't belong here.” The first group workout we had I left in tears with those same thoughts of self-doubt and feeling out of place.

However, everyday, I kept showing up and this was something I needed to accomplish. I started changing my thoughts to positive ones. Like “those people started somewhere too.” “I can do this.” “just keep going.” Let me tell you what a difference self talk makes. It’s the make or break in your journey.

I was also on a competition diet, which if you know anything about that you weigh, measure, and account for everything. I would go to gatherings and take my own food. I even went to Vegas for the Plexus convention and brought all of my own food for that entire week.. People don't realize the mental strength it takes. I would say out of my whole experience it was more mental than physical. I remember my coach telling me you are eating for your goals and you are fueling your body. I had to keep that mindset.
