STOP OVER SWINGING
Whenever I see a high handicap player, they always take the club all
the way to the top and lose control. Unless your John Daly, or Phil, or
even Lexi, or players with incredible hands, you shouldn't be doing
this. I prefer to have three-quarter shots to have more control into
greens. You want to have a backswing that only goes about three
quarters up. The more you can swing to 9:00, the more often you
will have complete control.
I would try to
compare taking
away a golf
swing as you're
stepping on a
gas pedal.
HOLD YOUR FINISH
I see too many guys in pro-ams go to the top of the swing and lose
their balance. It's simple, stop swinging so damn hard. If you want to

smooth tempo. I would say 60% or more of bad shots occur
because of lousy tempo, especially the transition. Try and whistle
while you swing and keep a consistent tone; if your tone changes,
you know your transition is off, and there's no chance of you being
