The Pet Pantry, housed at The Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s Southern Branch, is sponsored by Absecon Veterinary Hospital.
The Pet Pantry opened in April 2015. Since then over 10,000 lbs. of pet food has been collected by Margate’s Ross School fourth-graders, A Work In Progress Foundation, English Creek Supply, Community Presbyterian Church, Ohio Pet Food Company, Margate’s Pet Salon, clients of Absecon Veterinary
Hospital, and others. That food has been distributed to nearly 2,000 families
with pets.
“Thousands of South Jersey residents have lost their jobs, their benefits are running out and families
are struggling to feed
themselves,” said
veterinarian, Dr. Rachel
Scotland, of Absecon
Veterinary Hospital in a
news release. “What many
people don’t realize is that
many of these families
have pets, which also need
to be fed.”
Shore Medical Center Farmers Market and Craft Fair is proud to host The Pet Pantry this summer.
