I n a few days I ’ ll be turning 40 and for some reason I keep getting compliments from both people that know me and who don ’ t . They said , “ You are glowing ,” or “ What ’ s different about you ?” I could not figure out what they were talking about . I have not gotten any work done , if you know what I mean , and after all I am almost forty years old .
Until something broke inside of me and I said to myself : “ I cannot continue to do both at the same time ”, maybe it was the fact that turning forty years old was just around the corner but I just knew something had to change .
I decided to fast and pray in order to get closer to God and ask , “ Is this what you want me to do ?” By this I meant sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ , writing books , coaching and styling his people with godly confidence and high fashion . Something magical happened as I continued to seek his face . As I began to share my testimony on social media I became bolder . My purpose became clearer and staying where I was could no longer be an option . While participating on a prayer call one day , I heard the answer I was waiting for , “ Yes . I have set you apart for my own ; use your gifts to glorify me and for my glory .” As tears streamed
So what is different ? My hair color is still fiery red , my clothes are still on point – as a fashion stylist and confidence building coach I have to look the part every day . Yet , they were not talking about my physical appearance , they saw something on the inside that was reflecting on the outside .
Then it hit me , “ they could see the new me , the woman walking in her purpose .” And then I understood . I have not been able to stop smiling since I decided to step out on faith and share all the gifts God has given me for his glory .
You see , I had been waiting for “ the right moment ” to step away from my successful corporate career to do full time what my heart desired and what I knew God wanted me to do . But the “ right moment ” kept moving farther away . Can you identify with what I am talking about ?
In spite of the fact that I was happiest when helping women , as well as few brave men , discover they were fearfully and wonderfully made . Although it upliftedmeto remind them they have a calling thatrequired them to look all kinds of fine from the inside out ; I still proceeded to procrastinate until “ the right time ” came along .

down my face , I responded , “ Yes , yes Lord I will go . I will do what you have fully equipped me to do .” The moment I made that decision , a huge weight lifted off my shoulders . I felt lighter and at peace .
Perhaps you are facing frustration and disappointment today and your career is not fulfilling anymore . I want to encourage you to search deep within and ask God , “ What would you have me do ?” Then , be still enough to hear his answer because God always answers .
As I mentioned earlier , my 40th birthday fast approaches and I cannot help but smile and say , “ Thank You Lord .” I get to help people step into their calling with grace , confidence and yes style . After all , Psalms 139:14 states , “ I will give thanks and praise to You , for I am fearfully and wonderfully made ; Wonderful are Your works , And my soul knows it very well .” ( New Standard American Bible )
