United States, this ranges between the ages of 62 to 65. However, after being passed over for so many jobs I realized I needed a miracle. This new reality helped me pinpoint exactly why I needed to stop kicking against the workplace door that God had obviously closed. Up until then, I had not realized that I was programmed to believe working a 9 to 5 job was my only career option. Entrepreneurship was not an opportunity I even considered. However, I had reached a point in my life where it was time to shift from this type of mindset and start doing what God destined for my life. I learned there are 5 principles an individual must consider when shifting their mindset to become a purpose driven entrepreneur: 1: Transform Your Mindset It is important be a life learner by reading books, blogs and taking as many free or paid classes as possible. Learning new things builds your confidence and equips you with the tools to succeed. However, a transformed mindset is more than just the way an entrepreneur thinks; it is also how they function. Things can change rapidly without prior noticein business. I can tell you from firsthand experience, if an entrepreneur is not mentally strong enough to withstand these changes, then the journey of entrepreneurship will be painfully short lived. Meditating and daily prayer ensure you stay in the right frame of mind needed to deal with the day to day challenges you encounter. It helped me realize building a business was not an impossible feat regardless of the setbacks. 2. Be Original and Intentional Each individual is uniquely created to fulfill a purpose. This is why entrepreneurs must remain authentic and be creative in their approach to business instead of copying others. Authenticity is what sets an entrepreneurs apart from their competitors. The goal should be to disruptyour respective industry If you desire to hold instead of conforming to it. Ifyou the dominant position in the industry, then you must have a unique selling proposition for potential clients. 3. Let God Be Your Geographic Positioning System (GPS) I discovered early on that to be successful, I had to submit my business under the guidance of God. As a result, everything began to fall strategically into place. My stress levels decreased and my revenue earning opportunities increased. If this is the results you desire, then take yourself out of the driver’s seat and put God in that place. 4. Be Unapologetically Audacious Audacious entrepreneurs are fearless risk takers who have traded in their cloaks of fear for capes of faith. Faith allows you to conquer the world of business and enjoy every aspect of the journey. I encourage all entrepreneurs to stand strong regardless of the circumstances. You must continue to fight relentlessly for your purpose driven business. 5. Be Persistent Persistence is a must have in your tool box. When I first started in business I heard the word no more frequently than yes. Had it not been for my persistence, my business journey would have been over before it started. So, if you have reached a point in your business where you feel like giving up, then remember God chose you to fulfill a purpose. Quitting is not an option. I have come to understand the value of time management; which refrains me from wasting time indulging in societal mediocrities or the opinions of others. Likewise, I spend a majority of the day developing and implementing strategic actions that will result in lasting legacies for generations to come. In sum, these 5 principles helped me to think differently as well as view situations from a new perspective. The ability to see new opportuniwhat I must focus on in ties helps me prioritize whatI order to be profitable in business. Unlike employees, entrepreneurs like myself are not motivated by the mission and direction of the workforce. We do not wait for permission from society prior to pursuing our goals and dreams.
